Who is this service for?
This service is designed for service users receiving a Personal Budget or those who have eligible needs but are self-funded who would like to employ a Personal Assistant (PA) / Carer directly to meet their support needs.
How does it work?
We offer support and advice on your Personal Budget (Direct Payment) from initial start up to assisting you in setting up the services you have identified. We will continue to support you throughout your journey with us. We are always here to answer any queries you may have throughout the process. Our team will advise you on how to manage your Direct Payment in terms of the records to be kept to ensure compliance with reviews and auditing undertaken with the relevant governing bodies.
We support you by providing:
- Links to agencies who offer home support
- Links to organisations who can provide Respite breaks through our partnership working
- Assistance in recruiting PAs for all types of roles e.g. from 1 hour per week roles to live-in care
- You with all the relevant paperwork for each service
- Assistance in applying for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate for your PA / Carer
- Information to ensure the correct Employers Liability Insurance is in place
- General training for you as an Employer and your PA / Carer
- Links to Partnership organisations for specific regulatory training for your PA / Carer
